GTP & SCITT

Training for both schemes is based at Clacton Coastal Academy (coast site). The schemes are accredited by the Training and Development Agency (TDA) and lead to the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from the DCSF. In addition the schemes are regularly inspected by OFSTED.

In both SCITT and GTP schemes

Graduates train in local schools and immediately become part of the experienced and well qualified teams of professionals who staff our schools.

Working in the schools means graduates learn how to teach from successful colleagues; they work closely with a subject mentor; they have high quality training from acknowledged experts.

Graduates have opportunities to work and discuss issues with other trainees; share experiences of different schools; link theory with actual practice
